Stylish storage design for a one bed flat
This bedroom and living room storage design project needed to create a large volume of storage and display space in a modern bijoux one bed flat. We reviewed sketch options with the client, agreeing a creative direction before instructing a bespoke joiner to build to our specification.
Since the alcove was shallower at one end, this was interpreted into a staggered design which stepped out at random places. Dimmable LED lighting allows the contents to be lit from behind for a subtle glow by night and to highlight the rich blue backs, picked to echo the kitchen colours.
In the bedroom, which was tiny, building around the bed made most sense as floor space was at a premium. We also recommended flipping the door into the room to allow for better movement. A timber clad acoustic panel acts as a headboard to absorb sounds and help the client sleep better. Inobtrusive LED lighting and reading lamps helped to keep the overall finish clean and minimalist.
